Ummmmmmm…That’s how the Cadbury Silk commercial makes you go when you look at that lonely man sitting in the conference room eating his bar of Cadbury Dairy Milk Silk and when you look at the two gorgeous Bharatnatyam dancers stealing bites and licking the wrapper when its time to go out on stage.
The music for the ad has been composed beautifully and you are bound to sing it to yourself every time you see the bar on supermarket shelves. The ad is a result of the insight that Cadbury has gathered over the years. If you look around you and notice how women and particularly children eat chocolates you will realise that they absolutely cherish it. Many a times, especially with a Cadbury dairy milk bar, women will spend hours in ensuring that the chocolate is melted before they eat it.
The process of indulgence has been captured in these ads, an infact both men and women have been used as targets. The ads say it doesn’t matter where you are and who you are, it’s okay to give into indulgence once in a while, just make sure you are not too late and the curtain closes by the time you are on stage. The man in the office does not answer his ‘wifey’s’ call, making the indulgence seem like a guilty pleasure.
Chocolates stand for so many things and when you see this ad that has so brilliantly been shot by the Vinil Mathew of Footcandles, you just want to close your eyes and relive the experience of how melted chocolate feels on your lips and tongue. Forget about the mess it is going to create, just give into the sensation, just surrender to the taste.
