Clinic All Clear – Anti Dandruff Shampoo

Agency: Lowe
Production House: Red Ice Films

Southern sensation Asin gets her act together with the current heart throb of the nation Shahid Kapur for Clinic All Clear’s latest commercial. In my opinion the ad is interesting. Interesting enough to chuckle and remember. It may not drive me off my comfortable chair to go and purchase the shampoo but I will consider the product the next time I go grocery shopping, because the ad is going to playback in my head.

Moving on to what the TVC is all about. Usually you can make out what product is being advertised from the first frame of an ad especially when it’s a product that has been on air for a while. But the change is refreshing in the new TVC. You can’t really guess that the TVC is for a shampoo before Asin and Shahid appear on screen.

The TVC begins with a young man getting dressed to paint the town red in an attire that is all black. The art direction is neat and the entire look and feel of the ad is classy. He is wearing black shoes, black pants and a shiny black shirt. All of a sudden when he is getting set to leave his house, Asin and shahid break in, point laser torches at the man and Asin says “Do you have a license, a license to wear black” and the man looks at her in amazement. Asin walks over and puts her hand through his hair and gives it a little ruffle. Of course flakes on dandruff fall on his shoulder that is covered with a black shirt.

Shahid goes on to say “Agar black pehna hai to get clear”.

Indeed an ad that one cannot forget in a hurry. Shahid and Asin are styled brilliantly and look like some sort of dandruff or hair police. Good direction, good acting and overall a good ad.
