Fastrack Bangs – Move On

Agency: Lowe Lintas
Production House: Corcoise Films

I’m not a fan of Genelia and when Garnier picked her to endorse a brand she had nothing in common with I was truly shocked. However Fast Track has got it right. Picking Genelia as a brand ambassador for a range of bags that Fast Track has launched has indeed been a good choice. The new string of commercials that star Genelia with a cute but naughty friend with benefits, Virat Kohli is a lot of fun to watch.

The campaign has three ads. The first one is in the elevator, the second is at the airport and the third is at the Virat’s home. All three ads are a representation of today’s young generation that are out with the old and in with the new in a matter of days. They live lives that are fast paced and will not get bogged down by anyone or anything. Genelia’s character too is of a girl who is modern and is absolutely ok with having an open relationship, a characteristic we have not seen a lot in Indian advertising.

The first TVC showcases Genelia and Virat walking into an ATM. She pushes him to a corner and is about to kiss him when he points to the camera that is watching them. She gingerly empties her fast track bag and puts it over the camera and continues to do what they intended to. The TVC ends with displaying the new range of bags that are cool and reasonable from Fast Track.

The second TVC starts with Virat looking into the mirror and realising that he has a ‘hickie’ on his shoulder. He looks at it and uses the strap of his bag to cover it. There is a girl in the background, wearing only a shirt who waves him goodbye as he leaves. Genelia is at the door, he is surprised to see her and forgets about the mark on his shoulder. She looks at the mark, smiles and says “New one?”. Suggesting it’s a new bag and a new girl.

The third ad sees Genelia at the airport making eyes at the ground attendant. She wants to secure an extra ticket for her boyfriend and apparently this generation can get it done. Well shot, the string of TVCs is fresh and interesting to watch.

  1. Irritating ads….also the way the lady says move on…was it supposed to sound sexy? Well, it sounds like she really wanted to go to the toilet the time she recorded it!
