The Pizza Hut commercial seems to have hit the nail on the dot. While most pizza delivery houses today are fighting with each other tooth an nail in terms of delivery and quality, Pizza Hut has gone one step ahead and suggested through its latest TVC that if your Pizza is not hot when delivered, we will not charge you for it. Looking for a USP that sells, well, what sells better than hot food delivered to you within thirty minutes of placing the order.

JWT and Q.E.D films have made a good film. The film features a young boy waiting for his pizza. As he opens the door, there is a delivery boy outside shuffling the pizza box from one hand to another. The team has succeeded in reading into people and draws from the insight that when something is hot people will shuffle it. The boy looks at the pizza delivery guy a little surprised and wonders what it wrong with him, until of course the box is transferred into his hands and he continues with the shuffle himself because the pizza is still hot.

A great looking ad and it appeals to the young audience that it is made for. The ad is said to have exploited the social network medium of facebook before it aired on TV. The response was tremendous and the brand received positive feedback from the audience of young men and women that it was catering to.

The business of pizza delivery is getting tough and pizza houses like Smoking Joes, Dominos and Pizza Hut are continuously looking for innovative USPs to attract customer. Hot on the Dot is an interesting idea and seems to be working with the young and the restless who can get what they want by making a simple phone call.
