You can run, you can hide but you simply cannot ignore the new VW Vento talking print ad. People all over the country were surprised on the morning of September 21, 2010 when their newspapers started talking to them about the brand new VW Vento. A light sensitive recorder was set into the papers and once it was opened it blurted out a script that was tailored to suit the visual.
The ad is innovation at its best and indeed tells a good tale of what the new Vento has to offer. It brings with it fine German engineering that is indeed unlike anything else this country has ever seen. The idea was to be different, appeal to an audience, make them listen to what the Vento is all about. And that’s what the ad does without being too intrusive.
The ad talks about how the car is built with so much care and passion by Germam engineers that it breaks the heart of the engineers to watch the car drive away. The script is simple and talks about the relationship that the maker of a masterpiece has with his outstanding creation. The concept is neat but the execution makes you take note and remember it.
The first announcement of VW in India came with a bang and it took over a lot of space in newspapers, and this one makes you forget that. VW for years has been creating brilliant print ads and the innovation they are using in their ads only reinforces the trust that customers have in the brand.
We wonder what they will do next, here’s congratulating the team for a great print campaign and hoping to see some more innovations with more launches in the coming years.
